Overview
We welcome all Vanderbilt and Owen alumni to consider using the Walker Management Library. Our staff and services are a rich resource available to you after graduation. We provide a range of service options from allowing walk-in do-it-yourself-service to also providing customized research services for a fee. Access Information
Vanderbilt alumni are eligible for access and borrowing privileges. Cards for University alumni are issued by the Commodore Card Office, 184 Sarratt Student Center, 615-322-CARD. You must go there in person. An Alumni ID Card has a one-time fee of $10.00 and replacement cards cost $15.00. Alumni will be asked for their social security number and a photo ID for verification of status. Card Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:00 pm, with occasional extended evening hours. It's always best to call before going there.
Also, if you plan on printing in any of the libraries, it costs $.04/page. Make sure you tell the Card Office that you need to put some cash on your card while you are there. You can also pay with cash in the library at the time of printing, but swiping your card is much easier.
Borrowing Information
At the Walker Management Library, alumni enjoy the following check-out privileges with a valid alumni card:
- Books - 3 weeks
- Audio books - 2 weeks
- Career books - 28 days
Borrowing privileges vary at other Vanderbilt University libraries.
Using Library Resources
Vanderbilt alumni can use many of the University’s electronic databases and resources while on campus. Due to the database vendors license agreements, remote access to the databases is provided to current faculty, staff, and students only. An exception to the remote access policy has been negotiated for Owen alumni. See Owen Alumni Databases for more information.

Business Information Service (BIS)
Alumni may contact the Walker Management Library's Business Information Service for additional research assistance. This service ranges from advice on where to look for information to in-depth research on your topic. Cost estimates and project scope are always discussed and agreed upon in advance.

For Owen Alumni Only
Alumni Databases
When you are a current Owen student, you have access to a wealth of business information using our database subscriptions. We are able to provide so many options due to the vendors’ discounts for academic users. For this reason, many databases are not available for remote access after graduation. However, a special set of databases is available remotely to Owen alumni. Use your Owen ID and Password to access these resources.

Databases for New Owen Alumni who are Job-Hunting
Owen students who are recent graduates but haven't been able to successfully gain employment are often refered to as graduates who are "still-seeking." To help you continue your search for a job, the Career Placement Center and the Walker Management Library have teamed up to offer you acess to some great resources. We have negotiated special license agreements with select database vendors to provide remote access to some databases. However, this access is only available through December of the year you graduate.
