BloombergLocate real-time and historical information on economic conditions, market data and public companies worldwide. Information is available on governments, mortgages, money markets, bonds, commodities, stocks, and currencies. This resource is used in most companies and institutions that manage equities, commodities, and currencies. Two dedicated Bloomberg terminals with full API capabilities which allow for custom downloading and creation of reports are available in the Walker Management Library and Owen Computer Lab. Online tutorials are available on the terminals and Bloomberg now offers certification in different financial management areas with tests that can be taken on the Bloomberg terminals. [more]
EIU Country Data
EIU Country Data (through the Economist Intelligence Unit) is a source of economic indicators and forecasts providing data series on economic structure, foreign payments, external debt stock, external debt service, external trade, trends in foreign trade, and quarterly indicators. The data covers 115 countries with extensive data - over 700,000 data points -- with most data going back to 1980 with forecasts several years in the future. EIU Country Profiles
EIU Country Profiles (through the Economist Intelligence Unit) provides an annual analysis of country history, politics, infrastructure, and economy, including trade. Provides basic data (such as population statistics, climate, language), statistics, and selected bibliography. Thirty countries are represented. Older reports or reports from other countries not listed in this database can be located in our Business Source Premier database. [more]
EIU Country Reports
EIU Country Reports (through the Economist Intelligence Unit) analyzes current trends and provides two-year forecast. Covers political and economic outlook, economic forecast, as well as analysis of key political and economic policies, including foreign trade. Includes statistics. Quarterly reports, with monthly updates for larger economies. Covers about 30 countries. Older reports or reports from other countries not listed in this database can be located in our Business Source Premier database. [more]
Global Development Finance Online
GDF Online has external debt and financial flow data for the 136 countries that report public and publicly-guaranteed debt to the World Bank's Debtor Reporting System. The time series for 218 indicators run from 1970 to 2000, with contractual obligations data until 2010. The indicators include external debt stocks and flows, major economic aggregates, and key debt ratios as well as average terms of new commitments, currency composition of long-term debt, debt restructurings, and scheduled debt service projections. International Financial Statistics
IFS Online is published by the International Monetary Fund and is a standard source of international statistics related to finance - both domestic and international. Data is provided to help analyze international payments, rates of inflation and deflation, exchange rates, international liquidity, international banking, monetary policy, interest rates, prices, production and government and national accounts. World Bank e-Library
The World Bank e-Library is a full-text information resource for social and economic development. It is made up of World Bank publications (books, reports and other documents) and Policy Research Working Papers. There are selected titles from the 1980s and 1990s, and all published titles are included since 2000. The collection also consists of new titles as they are published, and information not available in print. This site provides access to more than 14,000 World Bank documents, previously known as World Development Sources. "The types of documents you will find include: Country Economic & Sector Work (in-depth background, strategic priorities, and direction for lending activities); Project Documents (loan documents released to the public according to the (project cycle); and Research & Working Papers (working papers & informal series from departments around the Bank)."
