Copyright & Licensing Restrictions
Copyright Restrictions
All users of Walker Management Library, resources must respect the copyright in works that are accessible through computers connected to Owen Graduate School of Management and Vanderbilt University networks. No copyrighted work may be copied, published, disseminated, displayed, performed, or played without permission of the copyright holder except in accordance with fair use or licensed agreement. This includes music, movies, and other copyrighted material. Users with questions about copyright or this policy are invited to raise those questions with Walker Management Library staff or contact Copyright Clearance Services, 615-936-4627 or via copyright@vanderbilt.edu.
Licensing Restrictions
The Walker Management Library, as part of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library at Vanderbilt University, contracts with a variety of vendors and publishers to provide users with thousands of electronic resources costing millions of dollars per year. In addition to paying for these resources, the Libraries typically negotiate license agreements that stipulate how and by whom they may be used. If license terms are violated by anyone, licensors usually have the right to temporarily suspend access for the entire university community. In some cases, licenses can be permanently revoked. These electronic resources are strictly for the purposes of research, teaching, and private study. Commercial use, and systematic downloading, copying, or distributing of information are expressly prohibited. Users are individually responsible for compliance with these terms.
