Purpose of FireStarter Prrogram
FireStarter is a program that turns nascent
business ideas into strong, viable businesses.
Every successful business started out as an unorganized idea.
The persistence of the founder, and his or her willingness to
learn about the target market transformed the idea into a viable
To determine how to make their business work,
most founders suffer through the agony of learning from their own
mistakes. With FireStarter,
a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs who know the common pitfalls and
hurdles of starting a business will help you quickly shape your idea
into a high potential business model.
The FireStarter session will provide the spark to
take your business from just an idea to an investable business model!
The student selected by the attending
entrepreneurs as the best for each monthly session will receive $300
from a fund established by the Class of 2000 to support the creation of

We welcome students from all disciplines. Engineers, life
science students, and medical stuents are encouraged to attend as
observers or participants at these sessions.
