My Resume

I joined the Owen School (Vanderbilt University) in 1990 after completing a Ph.D. at University of California (Berkeley). My previous degrees are from Indiana University, (MA) and the University of Kentucky (BS).

I have held short-term appointments with the International Monetary Fund, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, the Bank of France, the Bank of Japan, and the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research. I have also worked in economic expert witness consulting and for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

At Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, I teach courses in international management, international trade & finance, and global macroeconomics.

My research interests are in the fields of international finance, macroeconomics, and international corporate finance. I have concentrated on the macroeconomics of exchange rates, international trade, prices, and their relationships. I also study the effects of political connections on corporate value, and the impacts of political connections on the quality of reported financial information.

Also see my official Owen Graduate School of Management web site.
